Have you ever seen a stick figure animation? If not, then here is one.

Stick figure animations are fun to watch and if you have ever wondered how it is done, then here is a software for you. The above animation was made using a free tool called Pivot Stickfigure Animator that allows you to create stick figure animations easily. The program comes with some pre made stick figures like man, cowboy, horses and a few others. Load any background image and insert the figures into the scene. You can move the sections of the sick figure and easily create a chain of animation frames that can be previewed as you go. You can use more than one stick-figure in the animation, and even create your own stick figures using an easy to use visual editor that lets you assemble objects out of lines and circles. Set the animation speed, canvas size and save your animations as GIF images.
Pivot Stickfigure Animator is very simple and it’s interface is easy to understand. You won’t find lots of tools and actions here, and yet it’s capable of producing animations of surprising complexity. As with any creativity tools, whether be it Photoshop or a simple paint program, you will have to spend some time understanding how it works and will require at least some basic skills to produce a decent animation.
There is a group at MSN for Pivot where you can ask for help from other users. Enjoy these stick figure animations I found at the said group. Click on them to watch the animation.
